This is why Twenty20 Building Inspections highly recommends when purchasing any property a licensed and insured pest controller carry out a thorough inspection and report on the susceptibility and current condition of your new property.  

Because of the severe damage and therefore rectification costs that can be quickly accumulated by owning a home that is under attack by termites it is important to have an inspector that will look at the home, yard and surrounding areas.

A pest inspector must use a moisture meter device to be alerted to the fact that moist mud nests that termites travel through may actually be inside a wall cavity or other areas of the house. The findings should be gone through with the inspector on-site and the report should contain information that states not only if activity was found but also what can be done to prevent pests from entering the building in the future.

Termatrac and Thermal image camera equipment can also be used, this is the latest in termite detection technology as it can pick up vibrations and see into walls cavities etc. This equipment is particularly handy to help assess and pinpoint the extent of the damage and current termite activity.

As already stated all homes can incur huge costs from termites even steel and brick homes as these pests will destroy mouldings, skirtings and architraves which can result in thousands of dollars wasted. A pest inspector will also identify fungi and rot as well as cockroaches, mice, borers and other vermin.

Pest inspections charges…  It is not mandatory that you use our pest inspector and we will work in with your own pest controller, however if you use our guys we will co-ordinate it so they are onsite at the same time as your building report is being done. The pest  inspectors charge is $220 including GST. They also accept credit cards, checks or internet transfer and your payment will be directly to them.
